AskMen, the world's largest men's lifestyle publisher and part of Ziff Davis, is looking for a dynamic Business Intelligence Analyst to work out of our Montreal office, reporting to the General Manager

This position is a rare opportunity for a Data Analyst in Montreal: you’ll be working at the cutting edge of digital media for a company with international reach -- you’ll have opportunities to interact with brilliant colleagues in NY, LA, SF, London, and Sydney, as well as with other strong brands that are part of the Ziff Davis family, such as IGN, PCMag and Geek.com. AskMen features a young and vibrant staff, and our offices are based in the exciting Plateau area of Montreal.

The Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for helping support data analysis and insights to allow for improved decision-making for better business outcomes in both display advertising and commerce, as well as working to streamline KPI and Dashboard reporting for the business unit as a whole. In this function, you’ll work with Business Intelligence, Commerce and Display advertising stakeholders, as well as with the General Manager and other members of the management team.

We're looking for someone who is:

A pro at traffic, monetization and commerce analytics – the candidate will be responsible for actionable insights and recommendations to inform key business decisions. The candidate must demonstrate an ability to translate business challenges into analytical solutions, making informed, data driven decisions to drive the quality and efficiency related operations including content production, merchandising and site UX/UI improvements.

 

Responsibilities

  •       Utilize core commerce platforms, database querying, data manipulation and statistical analysis to provide business support to AskMen.
  •       Support the leveraging of marketing channel and advanced customer analytics to assess and make strategic recommendations to improve content performance.
  •       Accurately differentiate the contributing marketing signals from the noise in evaluation of multi-channel campaign analytics.
  •       Work with Business Intelligence coworkers in helping implement a data-driven culture focused on continually improving the understanding of the customer.
  •       Collaborate with internal content marketing and editorial stakeholders to find opportunities to increase the efficiency
  •       Support the evaluation of ongoing analytics and insights needs from stakeholders.
  •       Develop/Streamline Business Unit level reporting and dashboards.

 

Qualifications

Essential:

  •    Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics or applicable experience
  •    2-3 years analytics experience, including but not limited to: Web analytics, marketing analytics, database marketing, affiliate marketing.
  •    Strong analytical skills. Ability to problem solve independently. Able to analyze large volumes of raw data, draw conclusions, and develop actionable recommendations.
  •    Highly detail oriented with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  •    Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with and present to all stakeholders.
  •    Proven ability to identify areas of opportunity for existing practices/processes and execute appropriate improvements.
  •    Strong knowledge of Google Analytics.
  •    Strong understanding of Affiliate Marketing.
  •    Relational database experience, such as SQL a strong plus.
  •    Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.

Nice To Have:

  • Basic understanding of SEO
  • Experience with social media.
  • Experience with Tableau a strong plus.
